Apart from a simple stroll or brisk walks along the beach, Mäkoha provides activities for guests to capture the beauty of the coast. If you are an exeperienced kayaker or fisherman (with your own fishing gear) try catching our local snapper or kawhai in the kayak or off the beach. Or even utilize the bikes and cycle to the beautiful QE II Park for a picnic.
Please book in advance if you wish to use the kayaks or bicyles. You will be required to place a deposit, which will be refunded at the end of your stay.
Kapiti Island
Kapiti is a must see, internationally regarded nature and marine reserve since 1897. It is home to some of New Zealand’s most rare and endangered birds – including the Kiwi. We highly recommend booking the trip.

Southward Car Museum

Paraparaumu Golf Course

Paraparaumu Airport
Paraparaumu Airport is a small airport mainly used for light plane flight training and recreational flights including gliding. Starting in October 2011 it will be catering for direct flights to Auckland via Air Nelson. The airport includes the Kapiti Aero Club, Helipro (helicopters) and the Wellington Gliding Club.
